The core of the curactivum formula and the LLS system are chitosan-based biopolymer complexes, so-called chitosan complexes.

Chitosan and its effects

Chitosan has long been known for its antiseptic and regenerating effect on the skin. However, as uncomplexed chitosan, i.e. not incorporated into an active ingredient complex, it is difficult for the skin to absorb. When applied, it does not become a biomimetic component of the cell membrane complex of baby skin.

However, in complexed form, i.e. incorporated into an active ingredient complex, it can be made available to baby skin and becomes part of its natural protective barrier. In this way, chitosan can build up baby skin and protect it from damage.

The use of chitosan complexes

The LLS system also integrates these chitosan complexes into the skin's cell membrane complex in a way that is identical to the blueprint. The LLS system and the chitosan-based curactivum formula work in synergy to form an ideal biomimetic aid for naturally healthy, resilient baby skin.

The chitosan complex used in bebomed is chitosan aspartate, i.e. a complex of chitosan and aspartic acid. The biopolymer combines the wound-healing and skin-regenerating properties of chitosan and aspartic acid. Aspartic acid is a detoxifying substance produced naturally by the body. Aspartic acid also accelerates the removal of irritants from the skin.

Formation of a micro-protective film

Due to the excellent film-forming properties of the chitosan complex, it forms a pathogen-repellent micro-protective film on the skin.
This micro-protective film integrates into the cell membrane complex of the baby's skin. If the chitosan complex accumulates in the lipid layer of the stratum corneum, it thickens it. The protective function of the stratum corneum is thus increased above average via a natural mechanism.
If the cell membrane complex is not yet (fully) developed due to age or irritation, the chitosan complex can temporarily take over the function of the stratum corneum of the skin as a protective film. The protective film is identical to the skin, so it is breathable and not noticeable.

The chitosan complex is therefore ideal for supporting the skin in a natural, biomimetic way during below-average development or during development as such (in infancy and childhood).
