For skincare routines, we recommend combining bebomed products as they are coordinated with each other. The combination of the curactivum formula and the LLS system is particularly important in order to achieve optimal effectiveness and preventive effects.
Care routines for your baby
Bathe
Basic care – for a healthy and stable development of your baby's skin
Consistent basic care is important for baby skin because it supports the healthy development of sensitive baby skin. With such care routines, skin diseases and skin abnormalities can be completely avoided in most cases. Or at least they occur with a much milder course than if the baby skin is neglected.
In general, your baby should be bathed with bebomed bath gel or washed with bebomed wash lotion once or twice a week - not more often. Excessive foaming should be avoided, as the necessary cleansing effect occurs without foaming.
After bathing, apply a thin layer of bebomed care lotion to your baby's entire body and a thin layer of bebomed face cream to the face. This supports the cell membrane complex, i.e. the still unstable layer of your baby's skin. The skin becomes more resistant from the inside to environmental influences but also to skin abnormalities - such as psoriasis, neurodermatitis or even harmless cradle cap .
When going for a walk, it is important to protect the facial skin from external influences, especially to avoid the skin drying out. If these are exposed, also the neck and hands. Cream your baby's face and neck gently and thinly with bebomed facial cream and the hands with bebomed care lotion.
On cold and windy days, i.e. almost all winter long, transepidermal water loss can be prevented even more: bebomed Wind & Weather Balm provides your baby with optimal protection.
If your baby is already active and exploring the world under your supervision, bebomed wound protection balm is an important companion - especially outdoors. You can use it to treat small injuries to your baby directly: the injury can simply be rubbed with the wound protection balm. This relieves the pain so that your baby does not become unnecessarily restless and also protects against subsequent infections.
If your baby has dry skin , you should generally use bebomed care oil instead of bebomed face cream in the care routine.
massages
Massage – pleasant relaxation for your baby
Baby massages promote the well-being and relaxation of the baby and can have many positive effects:
A calming massage for a baby is an effective way to reduce stress.
This helps to prevent stress from developing into psychosomatic disorders, such as neurodermatitis, during infancy.
Furthermore, a gentle abdominal massage can significantly relieve stomach pain (usually caused by flatulence) and general cramps. Abdominal massages stimulate the baby's natural intestinal movement, so the massages have a digestive effect.
In addition, massages generally promote a calm and stable sleep for the baby.
Ultimately, massages also have a psychological effect: They strengthen the baby's bond and trust with the parents, especially when both parents massage. This is even more true if the parents maintain eye contact with the baby and smile during the massage. This conveys "happiness" as an emotion to the baby. Babies primarily only know two basic emotions: happiness and fear. Massages can thus be used to repeatedly bring the positive, calming feeling of happiness to the forefront, especially on stressful days.
Babies find the following massages pleasant:
– The massage movements should be from top to bottom (from head to feet).
– The massage movements should go from the center outwards.
– Each movement should be repeated at least three times.
– All movements must be performed gently!
Face:
With your fingertips, massage the chewing muscles from the bottom to the ears in small circular movements. Then stroke with your fingertips from the nose to the cheek. Finally, stroke with your fingertips from the middle of the forehead to the temples.
Body (torso):
With the flat hands, stroke from the middle of the body outwards and from top to bottom - ie from the neck over the shoulders, over the chest and stomach or the back to the legs.
Poor:
Very gently “wring” the muscles and tissue from the shoulder to the hands.
Legs:
Wrap your hands around both legs at the same time and stroke from your thighs over your lower legs to your feet.
Foot:
Massage the heel with circular movements using your thumb. Stroke the foot towards the toes. Then take each toe very gently in your hand and stroke it.
Experience has shown that the following framework conditions should be created:
– The baby should be awake and full so that it can focus its attention. It should not be sick so that it does not find the massage stressful – rest is the most important thing here.
– The room should be quiet and, above all, warm.
– The light should be dimmable or generally subdued.
– The baby should lie on a soft surface.
For massage, bebomed care oil is the first choice.
At the beginning of the care routine, clean the parents' hands thoroughly and rub them with the care oil. This will make the hands pleasantly smooth and warm. Then rub the parents' hands again and generously with the care oil for each individual massage step. This way, the baby's skin is always supplied with pleasantly warm oil during the massage. bebomed care oil not only feels pleasant, but also stabilizes the cell membrane complex of the baby's skin, making it significantly more resilient.
If possible, the massage can be done after a bath with bebomed care bath or a wash with bebomed washing lotion . However, this is not a mandatory combination. A massage is best done when the baby is ready and feels comfortable.
diaper change
Care of the diaper area – everyday routine with protective effect
Like everything else, it happens to you and your baby several times a day: changing your diaper.
There are now highly developed diapers from a dermatological point of view, which, from the perspective of their manufacturers, do the best possible to avoid irritation or even irritation of the skin in the diaper area. However, in many cases this is not enough: skin irritations such as redness and irritation occur at least sporadically in almost every baby. They often develop into wet open areas.
Use diaper changes for protective care routines!
Wet and sore skin in the diaper area is a common problem for delicate baby skin. The burning sensation often causes the baby to become restless.
The interaction of a highly developed diaper with bebomed care lotion results in excellent synergies: Clean the diaper area preferably with water - many wet wipes are water-based - and in the case of very heavy soiling, use the bebomed washing lotion.
Afterwards, dry the diaper area and then apply protective care with bebomed.
Do not wash or rub. Clean your hands thoroughly beforehand. Applying it every time you change a diaper is the ideal way to prevent sores.
